We invite you to participate in this study, which aims to document the practice of art therapy in Quebec as well as the changes experienced by art therapists in their art therapy practice since the adoption of the Act to amend the Professional Code and other legislative provisions in the field of mental health and human relations (Act). Your participation requires taking approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete our online questionnaire by April 29, 2024. This questionnaire focuses on your current professional art therapy practice. We've grouped the questions around four themes: Profile of the Art Therapist (academic training, years of experience, professional affiliations, practice permits, etc.); Employment Profile (administrative region of practice, salary, professional status, practice methods, etc.); Profile of the Practice of Art Therapy (clientele reached, issues addressed, types of art therapy measures employed, preferred approaches, theoretical frame of reference, etc.); Overview of the impacts of the Act on the practice of art therapy.

The results of this study will allow us to draw an overall and up-to-date picture of the profession in Quebec. Furthermore, this overview is part of a larger research project aimed at identifying the specific characteristics of the current practice of art therapy in Quebec. Ultimately, this work intends to shed light on its foundations in order to contribute to the recognition and development of the professionalization of art therapy in Quebec. Other than the time you will spend filling out this questionnaire, the risks and inconveniences involved in taking part in this study are no greater than those associated with your day-to-day life. If, however, completing the questionnaire should cause you to experience more emotions than expected and require individual support, we invite you to contact one of the following two people, free of charge: Maria Riccardi (maria.riccardi@uqat.ca) or Marjorie Lavoie (marjorie.lavoie@uqat.ca), who will get back to you within 48 hours. Please note that this discussion will remain confidential and anonymous, and that the research team will not be informed of your request for assistance.

All data gathered about you during this research project will remain anonymous. Your responses will not be associated with your email address or any other identifying information. Data will be stored on the LimeSurvey platform, which is hosted by UQAT. In accordance with university record management policies, research data will be kept for seven years after the end of the project.

Our research team and UQAT declare that they have no real, potential, or apparent conflicts of interest with this project and do not intend to commercialize the results.

There are no immediate benefits associated with your participation in this study, and no compensation will be provided.

You are under no obligation to fill out this questionnaire, nor to answer all the questions it contains.
